How to Turn On Closed Captions on Paramount Plus Across Devices

Closed captioning offers flexible and inclusive viewing when you’re watching an international film or have difficulty hearing. At Paramount Plus, closed captions are included in their accessibility features across a wide range of devices. From computers and smartphones to streaming sticks and smart TVs, you can turn on captions with just a few clicks. While steps may vary slightly by platform, they all provide access to basic subtitle settings and closed captions controls.

Turn On Closed Captions on Windows or Mac Computer

  1. While streaming a show or movie, simply click the speech bubble icon in the upper-right corner of the video screen.
  2. Under the Subtitles section, click the language option you prefer.
  3. Under the Subtitles section, you can also select Subtitle Settings to adjust the font style, text size, and other features of the subtitles.
  4. To turn on the audio descriptions, click an option under the Audio section.

These directions work across browsers, whether you’re using Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, or any browser on Windows or Mac.

Access Closed Caption Settings on iPhone and iPad

  1. In the same directions for computers, you can access the subtitles by tapping the speech bubble icon in the top-right corner of the video player. Under the Subtitles section, you can select the desired closed captioning option to turn the subtitles on.
  2. However, if you want to change the subtitle features, such as font size and style, you can go to Paramount Plus Settings on your iPhone or iPad. Under Settings, select Accessibility. From there, you can enhance subtitle readability, audio descriptions, and explore settings under Vision, Hearing, and Speech to improve usability.

Turn On Closed Captions on Android Phone or Tablet

  1. Tap the speech bubble icon at the top-right corner of the video player. Under the Subtitles category, select from the language caption options available to turn on closed captioning.
